When I was a kid and people used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I didn't say "Astronaut", "Firefighter", or "Rock Star". I'd say I wanted to be the person in charge at Disney.
From an early age, I loved powerful stories and the people who tell them. And that led me to my career in marketing.
Marketing is about more than telling stories, of course. It's about driving business growth.
That's what I've been doing for the past twenty years.
I'm a strategic thinker with a passion for strong brands and experience across multiple industries. My first and my most recent jobs were at start-ups, but in-between I spent 12 years in leadership roles at some of the world's most renowned, consumer-focused Fortune 500 organizations: Starbucks, Yum! Brands (Pizza Hut), Coca-Cola, and Google.
I earned an Honors BBA (marketing) and MBA (strategic management, international business) from the Schulich School of Business at York University, a certificate in “Disruptive Strategy” from Harvard Business School Online, and an "Insights for Innovation" certificate from IDEO U. I'm also recognized as a Chartered Marketer by the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA).
I have a proven ability to develop great brands and over-deliver growth targets. I'm experienced in building strategic plans to outmaneuver the competition, helping products stand-out and succeed in the market, commercializing insight-based innovations to address unmet consumer needs, optimizing portfolios and systems to increase profitability, and leading innovative initiatives that drive key business metrics.
I've been described by past team-members as a dedicated and inspiring people-manager, by previous agency partners as someone whose leadership style enables their best work, and by former colleagues as a collaborative partner who builds authentic relationships at all levels. Recently, I was humbled to have someone tell me in an email, "Thanks for your kindness and candour – your signature style."
I look for high-growth entrepreneurial environments where talented people work together to achieve what others thought wasn’t possible. I work with innovative, ambitious companies dedicated to making life better for their consumers; ones that aren't afraid to leap, to fail, and to learn in order to become stronger, faster, better organizations.
If this sounds like your company, we should talk.
But it's not all about work.
I love my work, and it's a big part of who I am... but it's not everything. If you'd like to know more about who I am as a person, I invite you to explore the personal photos and blurbs below.
