Getting excited about your own ideas is human. The problem is that by the time a major decision is ready to move forward, everyone in the room has already made up their mind. The debate is over before the outside world even knows what you're planning.

That's when you need someone who wasn't in the room while you were building the case.
A Red Team session brings me in to stress-test the idea before you commit to it. You bring your key stakeholders, the people who built the case and can defend it. I come prepared to challenge it: to find the gaps, expose the risks, and push on the assumptions your team has been living with long enough that nobody questions them anymore.
WHY AN OUTSIDE VOICE MATTERS
What I bring to the session is something most teams can't generate on their own: genuine candour. Inside most organizations, there are powerful forces working against it. Nobody wants to publicly challenge the boss's idea. Nobody wants to be the person who killed the project everyone was excited about.

Internal politics, the instinct to protect relationships, and the quiet pressure to stay aligned with the room all push in the same direction.

I have none of those pressures. I can say what I actually think, and I will.
A Red Team is worth doing when the stakes are high: a significant investment, a new market entry, a product launch, a strategic direction change. The goal is to walk into your final decision knowing the idea has already faced its toughest critic.
