Dealing with Disappointment

Writer's picture: David PullaraDavid Pullara

I got a disappointing email from someone I know yesterday.

I allowed myself a minute to be disappointed, then I filed it away and moved on.

Sometimes, people will disappoint you.

With their words.

With their actions.

Perhaps with their inaction.

You usually can't control what other people say or do.

But you can only control how you respond.

When someone does something to disappoint you, take a moment to think about the best way to respond... if a response is even warranted.

And take a moment to be disappointed if you need it.

Just remember that any time you spend being disappointed is time you're not spending moving on to bigger and better things.
