You've likely heard the phrase, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
The saying is meant to encourage perseverance when you encounter failure and implies if you simply persevere long enough, you'll eventually succeed.
But imagine you ran a promotion that didn't end up generating any additional sales...
... would you simply "try again" and run the same promo without making any changes?
I hope not.
If you want a different outcome, you need to do something differently the next time you try.
And the real skill is figuring out what that "something" needs to be.
There's a great line in "The Book of Boba Fett", spoken by The Armorer to The Mandalorian (at the 20:20 mark of season one, episode five) that sums up this simple idea eloquently:
"Persistence without insight will lead to the same outcome."
So before you try again, make sure you understand what went wrong and what you should do differently the next time. (If you can't figure it out for yourself, bring in an expert to help.)
If you don't, your persistence is wasted.
This is the way.
