Unexpected Waves

ree

Yesterday morning, my wife packed our kids into our minivan and set off for a day at the beach.

Normally, a day at the beach means I wouldn't see them again until the early evening.

But in the early afternoon, I got a phone call from my wife: "We're on our way home."

It turns out that the wind was intense and the waves were unexpectedly large, so it wasn't possible for our children to go swimming... which is the main reason they go to the beach in the first place.

Inevitably, the "unexpected" is going to interfere with your plans sometimes.

You can sit in the sand and complain about the wind and the water.

Or you can pack it up, spend the rest of the day doing something else, and try the beach again another day.

Complaining about things you can't control isn't productive.
