ADdicted: How Secret Santas use Facebook

Put your hand up if you've ever used somebody's Facebook profile to help you understand someone better, perhaps to buy them a gift you think they might like.

If your hand is up, this ad requires no further explanation.

There are a lot of things wrong with social media platforms in general, but they still enable a level of community and connection that's difficult to get anywhere else online.

And if you're willing to set at least a few of your Facebook privacy settings to "public", you'll help Secret Santas everywhere find you better gifts.

P.S. A hat-tip to Ben Jones (who I don't know) for sharing this ad on his LinkedIn feed (which is how I discovered it), as well as for his insightful commentary around how a company spending HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS on AI to help advertisers create ads without needed advertising agencies didn't use any AI at all for its own holiday ad.
