Stressed? Read!

"Researchers found that reading for just 6 minutes per day reduces stress by 68 percent — outperforming music (61%), tea (54%), and even walking (42%). When you read, your heart rate drops and cortisol levels decrease as your nervous system shifts out of fight-or-flight mode."

This useful piece of information is from Arnold's Pump Club Newsletter, one of the most useful, well-researched health newsletters that is sent to my inbox every day.

So if you're stressed, pick up a book.

And if you don't have a book nearby...

... there are almost 700 posts available at dpThoughts.ca. (Reading is reading, right?)

Cozy library with leather chairs, wooden ladder, and globe-topped fireplace. Sunlight streams through the window, illuminating books.
