Use Your Power

What would you do if you were all-powerful?

On April 18th every year, nerds everywhere celebrate Superman Day. Because on this day in 1938, the world was introduced to Superman when Action Comics # 1 hit newsstands.
(FYI, if you happen to have a mint copy of that comic book lying around somewhere today, it's worth anywhere between $6 and $15 million.)
Those who know me well know that I've been fascinated with Superman since I was a kid.
Not just because he was super strong and could fly, but because he was depicted as this all-powerful, unstoppable force...
... yet instead of using all that power for his own personal gain, he continually chose to use it to make the world a better place.
I used to wonder how many people would choose to do the same.
(Sadly, I don't wonder that anymore: these days, you can simply pick up a newspaper or turn on the news to see how many of the world's most powerful people seem to have chosen the "Kneel before Zod!" path.)
Of course, nobody on this planet has the level of power that Superman is depicted to have.
We can't lift cars, or race trains, or fly without getting into an airplane.
But we all have some level of power.
The power to create something useful.
The power to teach someone something new.
The power to make someone smile.
The power to be kind.
How will you choose to use your power?
