Spotify's Goodbye Playlist

Spotify made me a "Goodbye for now" playlist.

I recently cancelled my Spotify Premium Family Plan subscription.

I enjoy the service, but the cost is going up almost 25%, and Amazon Music Unlimited swooped in with a VERY well-timed deal.*

Spotify tried all the usual "stay" tactics you would expect from any subscription service...

"Why do you want to cancel?"

"Can we offer you a lower-priced subscription instead?"

"Here's what you'll be losing if you go..."

But Spotify's last screen, which appeared right after confirming my cancellation, was really on brand:

A "Goodbye Playlist" from Spotify

It didn't make me revisit my decision to leave.

But it left me with a smile on my face.

And when you're hoping a customer will return to you one day, that counts for something.

P.S. Read the song list downward. Funny enough, I tried something similar with Spotify a few years ago when I created a "Hire Me" playlist as part of a job application. Unfortunately, my playlist worked about as well as this one, which is to say, it didn't work at all.

* If you were wondering, Amazon Music Unlimited offered me 3 months free then a monthly cost the same as my pre-increased Spotify price. PLUS, while Spotify includes 15 hours of audio-book listening per month, Amazon includes one full book each month (i.e. regardless of length) from anything in the Audible category. Lower price and larger selection? That's an easy decision for me. If you hurry, you can get the offer here: https://amzn.to/3Ziddcy
